Dr. Fareed Zaffar
Co-founder, Primea
Dr. Muhammad Fareed Zaffar is a co-founder of Primea and a computer scientist whose research spans security, privacy and internet measurement. His work covers social networks, online fraud and cybercrime, alongside technology-enabled public-sector reform and information and communication technologies for development. He also studies program analysis methods for making software more secure and efficient. He earned his PhD in Computer Science from Duke University in 2005 and a BSc (Honours) from LUMS in 1999, majoring in Computer Science with a minor in Mathematics.
M. Mahdi Khan
Co-founder, Primea
M. Mahdi Khan is a co-founder of Primea and Co-CEO of DeepMarks, Primea’s joint venture with TMC. He heads the Technology for People Initiative (TPI), an applied research and design centre housed at LUMS. He holds an MBA from LUMS, receiving the NMF Gold Medal and Askari Commercial Bank Medal. His international studies include an MBA exchange at NUCB Business School in Japan and an MBA Globalization Module at UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business.
Dr. S. Sohail H. Naqvi
Advisor
Dr. S. Sohail H. Naqvi is an Advisor to Primea whose career spans university leadership, higher-education reform and workforce development. He serves as Chairperson of Knowledge Streams, which he co-founded in 2022 to help young people develop employment skills. He previously served as Vice Chancellor of LUMS, founding Rector of the University of Central Asia and Executive Director of Pakistan’s Higher Education Commission. At the University of Central Asia, he oversaw its first two graduating classes in Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. He holds bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University and has consulted for the World Bank and Asian Development Bank.
Dr. Imran Shah
Advisor
Dr. Imran Shah is an Advisor to Primea and a former Managing Director and Global Industry Group Lead at Accenture. He co-founded IBB Consulting Group and DigiForge, leading IBB’s acquisition by Accenture in 2017; DigiForge was acquired by TiVo in 2011. His media and telecommunications work includes supporting more than US$200 billion in cable mergers and acquisitions, alongside business-model and technology transformation. He holds bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees in Electrical Engineering from Columbia University and 15 patents. He was named a Top 25 Consultant by Consulting Magazine and has served on Columbia Engineering’s Board of Visitors and Entrepreneurship Advisory Board.
